In this piece, I have set up a 'station' where one can play solitaire while a videotaped version of myself watches, patiently and approvingly. Since most people of my generation are familiar with the computer version of solitaire rather than the analog one, I chose to use this one person game as a way to look at computer activity of being a primarily isolated practice that is also a fairly unbridled form of mass communication. The interaction in this piece is reflective of the technologically mediated interactions we experience on the internet, playing with super analog (cards, poster) as well as slightly outmoded (home movie style VHS tape and TV) methods of social communication and interaction.
