IDENTITY JAMMING 2008
IDENTITY JAMMING (2008) is the enacting of a real time, physical myspace profile enclosed within a makeshift tent, where the 'visitor' is only able to see through the protruding lens of a live feed video camera. The user inside is only able to see themself in the LCD screen of the camera. Minimal commentary from outside the tent can be heard, but otherwise there is no sense on the part of the user of a visitor to the 'space', except for perhaps anxiety and psychic intuition. The user projects their identity visually and concisely, with specifically honed signifiers, photos, music, and a background image. Through this technologically mediated physical experience, we can consider our intellectual and physical projections and receptions of identity in a post-human network.
